How many times a day do you apologize for being you? What aspects of yourself have you been neglecting lately? The other day I was out on a trail run (i.e. walk/jog) – choosing to honor an aspect of myself that I had been neglecting for quite some time, consistent movement – and found myself feeling some guilt that I was taking the time to give my body this attention and care, while my partner was at his office working. My thoughts were saying things like… ”I wonder how he’d feel if he knew I was out enjoying this beautiful day – would he feel anger and frustration that I was choosing this and he was (choosing to be) in the office?” I noticed that I was more concerned over how I thought he may react, and less celebratory over the fact that I was indeed making a really good choice for myself. I found my thinking to be insightful and informative... What outside conditioning had I received somewhere along the way that said it’s “selfish to give yourself love and care”…? What messaging had I received that has said “you must work from 9am-5pm, and anything other than that is you not working hard enough”…? This type of unsupportive messaging couldn’t be further from the truth! The TRUTH is... 1) self-love is NOT a selfish act - it is an act of love and service; AND, 2) choosing to create my own schedule does NOT imply laziness or a “less than” work ethic – it is once again an act of self-love and courage for designing my day in a way that serves me and others the most. When I give care to me, I am SO MUCH BETTER at serving “we.” So, Dear Ones, if you struggle with any unsupportive/conditioned messaging loops… ...In the name of love, care, service, and owning your truth…CHALLENGE THEM! Create new messaging for yourself. Honor and embrace what is true for you! Whatever it is that brings a sense of peace and grounding to your center, and a soft expansion to your heart…do that! Don’t apologize for honoring that activity. Don’t apologize for being you. Making apologies for yourself diminishes your Light and shuts down your gorgeous Essence. Please, please…no more! Give yourself permission to fill your cup as often as you’re able to, and more importantly, as often as you’re needing. My intention for this post ~ To encourage curiosity about any false beliefs and conditioning you may be carrying. My invitation to you ~ To illuminate any negative conditioning that is no longer serving you, and transform it into your actual supportive, loving truth! Thank you for spending time with me today! I am happy our paths have crossed... (And by the way, if you’re wondering… my partner was super duper supportive that I took that time for myself!!) If this blog post served you well, please feel free to like, comment and share.

You're so very welcome for the reminder! Just like a Zen master continues their own daily practice to cultivate peace, so too do we need to do the same with our internal dialogue...to shift out of inner critic/conditioned beliefs and into loving, compassionate, and wise self-talk!
